![]() ![]() The fish are really starting to show up on those mid lake rocks and rocky points. With more people targeting them the reports are only getting better. Shoreline breaks is another spot to check out in that 8-10 feet of water with cranks. Otherwise pull spinners in 12-15 feet of water with crawlers. If you are in Walker Bay, try some of the middle of the lake humps in that 25-30 ft of water. If one strategy isn't working, for sure switch because the reports of many different presentations are working. Walleyes are active in all areas of Leech Lake. Fishing is good and only getting better as fall approaches. With beautiful weather in the forecast this weekend, be sure to get out to the lake and enjoy some sun. On cloudier days don't be afraid to try the rocks and sand as we are hearing of fish being spotted in these areas as well. Find the cabbage and weeds for your best chance to see some fish. Finally, muskies fishing is going strong on Leech. Boy Bay and Steamboat are two popular spots to try as this fall bass bite fires up. Bass bite is hot now that the rice is all grown up and these fish are moving up shallow. As temps start to drop this fall, this bite should only fire up. We are starting to see shad raps pick up up in areas around Sand Point and other shoreline breaks, but also with cooler nights, some fish are being found out a bit deeper using strategies such as jigging raps and even a jig and a minnow. The walleye bite is still going strong with a lot of the same summer strategies still working. Labor Day Weekend is here! Spinners are a great tactic or lipless shads.įinally, as for a lights out crappie bite, we haven't heard much, but the cold front this weekend and cooler weather on its way should make that bite really fire up. Again, try baits that are moving and a bit higher in the water column. Largemouth bass is also picking up with fish moving onto the deeper structure. Spinners and jerk baits are working great to get them fish moving. More and more fish are moving to the rocks chasing moving bates. The deeper humps in Walker Bay are also a spot to try with the minnow bite or any of your reaction bite type jigs. Fish are moving in shallower so you can use a jig and minnow, lindy rig and minnow, or even pull shad raps in that 7-10 feet of water. Walleye bite is going strong with that crawler and spinner bite being the most productive presentation, but don't sleep on the minnow bite as that is still picking up as water temps start to drop. The cold fronts are here and it is feeling like fall more and more each day. Mixed reports as usual, but going from 70 degrees on one day to a high of 40 the next will start moving more birds into our area.įinally, the grouse reports are coming in strong. With the colder weather, the duck hunting is getting better as well. Otherwise we are on track to have less leaves on the trees to get your stands up and shooting lanes cleared by MEA weekend. Acorns are dropping and deer are feeding so focus your efforts on food sources if you are going out. Leaves are falling, temps are dropping, and with that hunting season gets better and better! If you are looking for a good time to get in the woods, it is now! For deer hunters we are seeing more activity. ![]()
